Line, and records show that Levi Hotchkiss of Derby was promoted to Com. Ensign on January 1, 1777, and achieved the rank of Lieutenant on March 21, 1779. He resigned from his position on May 1, 1779.

Abraham Murrey:
Abraham Murrey served two days in the relief of Boston and is listed as a guard at Horseneck. He is also included in a list of men in the Third Company of General Wooster's First Regiment, serving from May 15 to December 20, 1775, during which term the unit saw service at the Siege of Boston.
    The following year Murrey served in the New York City area, in the Fifth Battalion, Wadsworth's Brigade in Captain Johnson's Company. During this term Murrey participated in the Battle of Long Island and at White Plains.

Bowers Washburn:
Bowers Washburn was a member of an early Oxford family whose name was variously spelled - commonly using "Washband" or "Washburn." Bowers was the son of Ephriam and Miriam Washband. The land on which the Oxford Congregational Church is located was originally land of Ephriam Washband. His son, Bowers, served in the American Revolution and was one of the original members of the Union Episcopal Church of Humphreysville, which later became Trinity Church.
    Bowers was born on June 18, 1745, and died on November 24,1827. He was born and died in what was then Oxford, but is now Beacon Falls. He married Eunice Wheeler - who was the widow of David Wheeler, who died in the Revolutionary War. She died in Humphreysville on Feb. 19, 1823, at the age of 66 years. The couple had two children - Polly, who married James Beardsley of Great Hill, and Nancy, who married Levi Riggs of Rimmon Hill.
    The participation of Washburn in the Lexington Alarm is the only recorded activity by this man in the American Revolution. He is buried in Pines Bridge Cemetery.
